This is a key appointment with a market-leading company, known for its internationally recognised brand name in the high-end and versatile specialist wallcoverings sector. The company boasts an unparalleled product offering, with routes to market through specifiers, designers, and end clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional to join this rapidly expanding business.

As the Key Account Manager, you will report directly to the Managing Director and collaborate with an established sales team to contribute to the company's growth. The primary objective of this role is to achieve volume, revenue, and profitability targets by securing specifications and sales. The successful candidate will focus on cultivating existing accounts and identifying new accounts within Ireland to boost sales.

The role demands a strategic approach to increasing market share by engaging with targeted accounts, facilitating new introductions to enhance specifications and sales, and consistently maintaining the customer database. This position requires a proactive approach to new business, involving regular contact, delivering persuasive presentations, and addressing on-site technical issues with sound commercial judgement.

Ideal candidates will have at least three years of experience in the specification industry, preferably with a background in interior finishes or related sectors. Of specific interest to the client include fabrics, carpets, wallcoverings, flooring, furniture or soft furnishings.  As the business is very customer facing and operates through a friendly professional approach, you will need to have excellent interpersonal and networking skills coupled with lots of emotional intelligence in order to achieve your goals. 

Essential attributes include outstanding planning, organisational, and analytical abilities, confidence in both independent and collaborative work settings, and resilience in facing rejection. The ideal candidate will be driven by a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, bringing projects to completion, and contributing to company policy and strategy. The position is home-based, with the expectation of travelling to meet customers during normal business hours, four days a week, and includes occasional overnight stays.
